November’s volunteer project took place at Norton Point Beach in Katama. Coastal ambassadors met at The Trustees main office for a short introductory presentation on beach ecosystems, and then headed out to Norton Point in the Trustees’ oversand vehicle to conduct a beach cleanup along the southern shore. Ambassadors collected trash and other debris that had washed up after a series of storms hit the beach in late October. Along the way, they stopped to check out progress on the Trustees’ ongoing dune restoration project and discuss the steps involved in executing this large-scale project.
