Argilla Road Resiliency Redesign Field Trip

  • Crane Beach Entrance 310 Argilla Road Ipswich, MA, 01938 (map)

From our coastal vulnerability assessment, lower Argilla Road emerged as one the highest at-risk assets for The Trustees. The sole pathway for over 325K visitors to Crane Beach annually, Argilla Road, which already sees flooding during astronomically high tides, is projected to experience chronic daily tidal flooding by 2030. Come learn about our partnership with the Town of Ipswich and the MA Office of Coastal Zone Management to assess options and eventually implement an innovative resiliency design that will ensure public access for the next 50 years while restoring full tidal flow to the adjacent salt marsh. Attendees are advised to bring footwear appropriate for walking in a muddy, wet marsh.

RSVP not required.
