Restore America’s Estuaries will host their next Community of Practice virtual gathering via webinar on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, starting at 1 pm ET/noon CT/11 am MT/10 am PT.
The topic will be The Trustees Great Marsh Resiliency Project. The Great Marsh is the largest salt marsh ecosystem in New England. At 20,000 acres, this dynamic and fragile ecosystem stretches across Ipswich, Essex, and Newbury, and The Trustees of Reservations owns and protects 15%. The legacy of historical agricultural practices and mosquito control efforts are contributing to marsh degradation just as sea level rise is increasing.
This presentation will share innovative strategies for restoring the marsh and how we can help it keep pace with sea level rise. The presenters are Trustees Director of Coast and Natural Resources Tom O'Shea and Trustees Lead Coastal Ecologist Russ Hopping.
To join the webinar, you will need to register online in advance.
