Construction work on the Norton Point dune restoration began on November 22.
The sand being used is dredged from Katama Bay and being trucked from a dewatering site on Norton Point Beach to the dune construction area near the entrance to the OSV corridor.
Beginning November 23 at 7:00 AM the Norton Point OSV corridor will be closed to the general public as construction vehicles and operations will be occupying the entrance trail.
The OSV corridor will remain closed until a newly constructed and relocated entrance trail is completed and ready for traffic. The relocated trail and restored dune are designed to better shield the area from tidal surge and erosion, protecting the habitat and public access.
